Phew what a long weekend. It all ended nicely with the big bang. I was surprised to hear about the trouble in the foreshore at work the next day. Where we were, everyone was pissed, but happy. The only thing closely annoying was probably the "Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!" symphony. It was getting a tad bit stale after the 4th time. Ninja (aka Eleanor) opened her nice South Perth apartment to us to have a late arvo BBQ and laze around till it was time to walk 5 mins down to the foreshore for the fireworks. It was the best idea. While everyone was scramming around us looking for spots and getting sunburnt, we were nice, cool and comfy on her veranda. Plenty of entertainment as kids walk by trying to finish their beer before they see a cop (total fire AND alcohol ban can you believe that?!) and talking really loudy. I wonder why they think seem to think everyone is deaf after a few beers. Fireworks was amazing and the atmosphere was pretty darn patriotic. Pity it took almost 3 hours for the traffic to clear before we could drive home. SEE FIREWORKS PHOTOS HERE.
