30 MAY 2005. MONDAY. 10:11PM.
It's DETOX TIME. The parent-sitting week has now ended and it's time to get back to 'normal eating habits'. No more fried chicken, fried noodles, fried ice cream (!!). I feel like my stomach needs an oil change. Eeek. Always good to have them in Perth. I get to kickback in their hotel room, get fed nightly, watch everyone talk over each other at the dinner table, claiming to be political experts, conversations get louder as the wine level dips. The usual stuff i miss living away from home! I can't believe all week i chauffeur the folks around to exciting places only to find that the place they get all giddy with excitement is the chinese herbalist down the road from work. Dad whooped with joy like a kid let loose in a candy store, at the realisation that we can buy all the singapore goodies in perth. How totally weird it that?! It's like going to New York and getting hot flushes over finding a frozen Mrs Mac pie in Wal-Mart. Parents ... hmmm very strange breed. Four more days to another long weekend! Woo-hoo.
