With our new 'sun-blocker' up, i now have this sexy poster of Spiderman starring back at me all day. Frankly, i rather it be Batman, as in Christian Bale in the Bat suit. Tomorrow i'm off to watch the newish Wong Kar Wai movie 2046 at Paradiso. This will be the second Wong Kar Wai movie i will watch. And the first one i will be sitting thru all the way till the end (hopefully). Friends know i'm not a big fan of chinese movies. I rarely take interest in them, i don't even consider them good foreign films to watch. Because i rarely understand the dialogue, reading subtitles and watching the movie can be damn tiring! The price i pay for not taking interest in studying languages. Though my mandarin vocabulary is substantial i think, i can give taxi drivers directions back home, order food at dim sum (though some might tend to disagree) and speak the secret language to annoy my monolingual friends. In The Mood For Love was visually stunning but painfully slow. I gave up watching midway thru. I'm not having high expectations for tomorrow's movie, i have prepared to overdose myself with sugar and junk food to keep entertained and i sure as hell hope the other 2 monolingual friends watching it with me will not be expecting me to translate.
