With that basement bargain dress all tucked away and those proper shoes back in the box now, i have to say that dress definitely paid its dues ... all NINE DOLLARS of it! The melbourne weekend away was totally enjoyable. The wedding was small, cosy and intimate - just the way i liked it. It was beautiful, personal and perfect for the couple.I wouldn't have imagined it otherwise. There was a rock-like band ensemble on church, a violinist with the Denmark Philharmonic who also doubled as a groomsman, beautiful spring weather, a happy groom and bride and plenty of smiles around. The french rocked to their own version of what sounded like 80s Bowie glam rock to me, the perth gals boogied to the compulsory wedding anthem I Will Survive. The rest of the time i spent on my feet walking the streets in search for retail satisfaction. And melbourne definitely delivered its goods. I devoured the op shops, gawked at the fancy store prices, and had gigantic eggs benedict brekkies 3 mornings in a row. As i sit here back in my room, i feel refreshed from my mini trip east with the gals, welcoming my folks back to perth, and also nostalgically remembering this.
