01 JAN 2006. SUNDAY. 08:23PM.
It was time to get to know my new space. Since moving in here, i dread having to spend a whole day alone in the apartment, fearing i would go stir crazy with boredom. As i sit here, the ascot race day fireworks are going off outside and i can hear them so clearly, it was a defining moment how much i like the new neighborhood. Silly me, if i had known how close we were, i would have taken a walk and watch it with the rest of the suburbia folks. With the NYE celebrations over and done with (BBQ in suburbia, great conversations, drinks, food, ps2/board games, and missing out on the countdown by a few seconds!), i decided it was time to tackle getting to know my new rental. I spent the day restless and indecisive, did i want to watch tv on the couch? Or lie in bed and read my new book? Or clean? Or do laundry? Or just nap the day away? I couldn't decide. It was spent haphazardly doing all the things above, changing my mind once i settled on one thing. In the end, i spent my first whole day using up the little food i have cooking up my 2 meals, watching my Sex and the City dvds, drinking wine and smsing my friends back home, working on a new project i have set for myself this year and endless hours lazing on the kickass couch. Hey, i survived it ... and it wasn't so bad afterall.
