Wow, the Dog Year certainly arrived with quite a big bang ... literally. The preparations for welcoming in the new lunar year started road-testing coffee from the seemingly popular cafe in the 'hood on saturday morning, taking a stroll to the riverbank, sitting under a shady tree absorbing in the view and greeting passing joggers and talking about the weather. Back to the apartment after picking up some mandarins for dinner tonight and baking some jam filled cookies 'cos i wanted my home to smell like cookies. I set off to a friend's house to join in her family's reunion dinner feast which was sprinkled with laughter, chats, warm delicious home-cooking and a very adorable 15 month old eurasian toddler. On the first day of the new year, i lazed all day and got excited about dinner plans that night. I heard plenty of good things about the Old Swan Brewery and really looked forward to dinning at a fancy place. Dinner was so tasty, the company was delightful, and view outside was gorgeous. As we walked back to my car totally satisfied, we discovered a huge dent on the bonnet and the incriminating evidence lying on the ground next to it. Damn winds, took a huge palm tree branch off its tree and in spite of a totally empty car park, it landed right smack on my car. If this is not a cause for buying lotto, i don't know what is!
