BACK TO THE START

04 JUNE 2006. SATURDAY. 09:54AM.

I found it yesterday, my new happy place. It was filled with never ending aisles of pretty looking book covers and foreign magazines, 2 floors of couches to sit and read without getting hassled and my favorite coffee shop smack right in the middle of it. Finally, Borders has arrived. It was so exciting we made a day of it. I wanted to spend the whole afternoon there, walking thru' every aisle, comparing it with the other Borders of the World i have visited. Unfortunately, retail shopping across the street kept us late. We were kicked out at closing time, quickly finishing our coffees and muffins, and i managed to grab some exotic looking magazines on our way out. The long weekend started out catching up with the lovely Stella who had cheesecake and coffee waiting for me when i arrived. Yummo! Then off to meet friends to taste the some authentic vegetarian curries where you pay whatever you feel your meal was worth. I love the concept. I think it guilts people into making a more generous contribution. My $10 donation was worth all the spice and flavour, with the bonus river views from the top deck. Walking back into the city after, we weaved in and out of empty alley ways, peaking into glass windows, and rediscovering hidden gems our little city has to offer.
