Walking into a musical show without much expectations apart from the hope to hear her Pet Shop Boys duet somewhere in the act. That song has never left me since the days of my teenage crush on Chris Lowe, who knew they were batting for the other team then. But this show has definitely blew me away. The show tunes were of course pop hits from the past, you wouldn't think you knew so many of hers. I walked out of the show glassy eyed from the techicolour costumes changes, the amazing set designs, the flawless singing and of course, the moves baby. I so wanna learn to dance like 'em. It was strange driving home listening to The Killers, Placebo and The Hampdens and think how much music has changed. I wonder in 30 years time, which musician of my era will be honoured with their own musical? Its friday which means tomorrow is saturday, which means its "ball night". Thank god my new eBay dresses have arrived at the doorstep today. I am cheating the code and going not-quite black tie. I'm going to hide behind the 'creative' bandwagon and break the rules. Afterall, how many times at a formal have i seen my peers arrive in their suits with their dirty converse sneakers peeking out below? Seriously, if they can get away with that, i can get away with something purchased off the net and cost me less than my lunch money for the week.
