16 JULY 2006. SUNDAY. 08:24PM.
I'm back from a 24-hour sleepover on a farm in York town. It took us 2.5 hours to get there, after getting lost twice on the country roads and finally getting directions from a bunch of cops having their morning coffee at a tourist bay in Northam. Oh yes, we have gone too north instead of east. But we found our way back eventually and we reunited with the rest of the weekend crew enjoying their lunch at a country pub. Stomachs filled, we wandered the York town, swapping chilling ghost stories of the York Motel as we passed it, hoping not to catch a glimpse of anything unusual. We checked out the craft gallery and ooohhhed and ahhhhed over expensive wood furniture and even got a impromptu flash dance re-enactment from Kimmy when we found an unused lofty floor at the top of the building. Back on the farm, i took a walk around the acres and found some friendly animals happy to see me. The goat seemed pleased to have his head rubbed. Then the birthday cook fest started after sunset. My mash potatoes turned out well, even if i didn't know i was supposed to roast the garlic before using it! We had 2 kinds of roasts, a pasta bake, beetroot soup, salads and freshly made croutons (soooo yummy!) and a triffle for dessert. After all that food, we worked out to our iToy game where i was the undefeated champion of the air guitar challenge. I always knew i was born to be a rock star. FARM PHOTOS HERE.
