Can there be too much on a pizza dough? Well apparently not as i discovered this weekend at a make-your-own pizza birthday party. With everyone bringing along 2 toppings of their choice, in the end we could have what Baskin-Robbins achieved, 31 flavours - one for every day of the month. My pizza was conventional, filled with my favourite toppings of mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese and a handful of prawns for adventure. The more unconventional ones had lamb curry, chicken tandori or squid on the top. Power to the people i say! We even made a dessert pizza with strawberries and melted chocolate. How yummy! Oh course our little kitchen adventure didn't quite kick off as planned. Our first batch out of the oven all had baking paper stuck to the dough, which had us all eating the tops off the pizzas and leaving the crusts behind. As night fell, our knead and sprinkle skills got better and better, and by the time the last few ones came out, they were absolutely delicious! Which led me to think why pay for takeaway pizzas anymore? You can count on Beebs' birthday to be memorable ... past experiences have included a weekend away watching some really bad 80's b-grade porn from the video store, or four-star camping in the middle of winter last year - another first for me.
