Hands up if you are freaking out too that it's september already. Shit, shit, holy shit. My taste buds have been bugging me all week about getting some sushi and wasabi flavour, so it's been a weekend of nothing but. Not happy with just the awesome bento box dinner at Seizan on saturday night, i was on a mission last weekend to make truckloads of sushi for work this week. After all that hard work in the kitchen, i reflected whether it would be so much easier just buying truckloads of ready-made sushi from the shops. That way, i wouldn't be scrubbing burnt rice off the bottom of my saucepan. I finally discovered the real meaning of "holy smokes!" this morning whilst in my car driving to work in the rain and then stopping at the lights only to see steam rising from the bonnet. Any sane driver would have turn off the engine and leaped out from the car ... Me? i carried on cursing under my breathe, praying to make it to work in one piece before the car blows up on me. Thankfully Google confirmed that there was no danger of that sort, just plain ol' steam rising from a very hot engine with a water leak from the windshield. Well, here's hoping that's the truth. I just wish between now and the weekend car service, the weather gods will not let it rain on me. If not, i will have alot of explaining to do for all the horrified drivers trying to get as far away from my car as possible.
