04 JANUARY 2007. THURSDAY. 10:27PM.
Loved loved loved how the weather welcomed me back! I dreaded getting the first whiff of the summer heat, instead it was 13 degrees outside when i stepped out and i rejoiced at the cool change after a turbulent flight chasing thru cyclones (I had visually imagined myself kissing the ground when we landed and was very close to negotiating with God. Take my Tsubis! Take my Tsubis!). I am totally spent after a wonderfully exciting trip home. My luggage was 8 kilos heavier, I'm all shopped out and I have been living on staple instant noodles in the last 2 days. I have cut my own hair, did a load of washing, printed out favourite holiday snaps, and drank many cups of decent coffee to make up for lost time. Tonight as i wandered the shops in an expedition to re-stock my empty fridge, I am thankfully to be able to claim back the transparent boundaries of personal space and not once did i any make accidental body contact! Now i am in hibernation in preparation for my next trip. I am eating my greens, resting my sore feet, saving up the dollars and clearing my credit. My next time in Melbourne will be in the height of chinese new year and i plan to be feasting on deep-fried chinese dumplings and bountiful guilt-free shopping. Meanwhile i have to get thru another wedding weekend, this one a little less stressful where denim is allowed and we will be lawn bowling at reception. Sounds like fun!
