This one has to top the list of best fun I've had at a wedding. It was a cosy group of about 100 guests and the whole day was informal and chilled, sprinkled with fun games at the bowling club. There were a couple of local sports people i recognized, they pretty much ruled at the game. But we powered on at our own one, picking up techniques from the pros, shaking off our heels and bowling barefoot. We had red lanterns hang above us while we ate delicious chinese cuisines, we drank champagne and chinese tea, we toasted to the bride and groom with the obligatory yum seng after quick instructions to those who didn't know how. After dinner, we were ushered outside for the cake cutting which was slightly strange but then came the best surprise of all ... fireworks lit up the skies as we awed at how special that made the day (though future grooms-to-be were not happy, they complained how can they top that at their own weddings to come). The fireworks were meant to be a gift to the guests from the newlyweds. It was magnificent. Our very own light show. I was speechless. My only regret was not taking my camera out with me but the picture perfect moment will always stay in my mind. This beats any fireworks to start off the new year. As the drunken mates continued on well into the night, my responsible self hopped back into the car and headed home past midnight, ears still ringing from the giant sparkles. WEDDING PHOTOS HERE.
