First day of autumn. Bring it on Mother Nature, i'm sick of the heat. My jeans stick to my thighs and the laundry pile is never ending. Yesterday there was a birthday girl living in my apartment. So i handed her the Entertainment Book 1 for 1 specials and told her to go crazy. She studied the whole book and settled on a little placed called Meads. I have been to Meads once years ago, all i remembered was ordering the special of the night which was a whole pan fried fish nestling on my plate, while the others had demure-sized portions. I felt liked a pig. Yesterday I made sure I avoided the specials and headed for something more manageable. We polished off our posh dinners, washed them down with posh wine, and got suckered into sharing dessert (even with cake waiting at home) after witnessing squeals of delight from the ladies at the next table over their choc fondant souffle. With choc melt oozing out from its center, it sure was a definite upgrade from my home baked lemon butter cake. Nonetheless, we managed to light a candle, sing a song, cut the cake and popped a bite-size piece into our mouths and then headed straight for the couch and suffering indigestion. Ahhh ... such is the result of a perfect end to a good night out.
