Weddings can be about a whole night of predictable formalities and awkward silence with people you don't know at your table. But when it's the wedding of the most laid back person you know, and the friend who also packed his bags to move to Perth on the cheapest flight we could find, its really a night of hanging out with practically everyone you know. It's also the wedding where the groom baked his own wedding cake (believe it people - madeira and mud cake ), the tables were designed and set by the bridal party, the audio setup was basically a laptop, stereo speakers and 7 hours of iTunes rotation and of course, his wedding band didn't arrive by post till that very afternoon. It was intimate, casual and fuss-free and the way weddings should be. Even if we were eaten alive by mossies on steroids after sundown, it was the perfect day for a perfect winery sunset wedding.
